Physician Associate

Gain an exciting new career as a healthcare professional. Our PGDip Physician Associate is suitable for life science graduates or those with significant healthcare experience. Receive training in the medical model, with all curriculum content delivered in close partnership with practising clinicians. Strong emphasis is placed on workplace-based learning in NHS Primary and Secondary Care environments, allowing you to develop your skills and knowledge as a healthcare professional in real settings. This programme has been developed in partnership with Royal Berkshire Hospital and Berkshire Healthcare Trust with programme accreditation designed to meet the Department of Health's Competence and Curriculum Framework. You will be taught through a combination of small group lectures and tutorials, practical sessions, and problem-based and care-based learning. Learn in a dedicated teaching space with clinical and simulation equipment, consultation rooms with video facilities and online access to health-related teaching resources. You will have considerable interaction with patients from early in the programme and support from a wide range of healthcare professionals throughout the programme. This programme is suitable for life science graduates or those with significant healthcare experience.

Entry requirements

MSc: An upper second class honours degree (2:1) or better in a relevant subject in the life sciences (for example, biological sciences, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, pharmacy) from a UK university (or equivalent from a university outside the UK); or candidates with a good lower second class honours degree (2:2) combined with other relevant practical healthcare skills and experience; or qualifications and experience considered to be equivalent to the above. Deadlines for applications are normally in May; please get in contact for more information. IELTS: 7.5 overall with no element less than 7.0 (or equivalent).
