We regularly host major conferences, including an annual conference sponsored by our home journal, Ratio. Being within easy reach of Oxford and London, you can also take advantage of the wealth of philosophy events at these two leading centres of research. Our Department is dynamic, forging links with other departments and universities and devising new ways of improving the education and experience of our students. There is a range of great opportunities for collaboration with staff and other students at regular seminars, reading groups and events organised by the student-run Philosophy Society. We are also well known for our friendly, collaborative atmosphere, in which students and staff get to know one another on an individual basis.
