Agricultural Development Economics
This course combines the analytical rigour of modern economicanalysis with practical, field-based perspectives on agriculturaldevelopment. It provides the skills, knowledge and insight necessary to contribute to confronting the challenge of reducing rural poverty, pathways for agricultural transition, and a balance between theoretical perspectives on agricultural development, and modern empirical methods and tools.The part-time course option is for UK/EU students only.
You are normally required to have a good undergraduate Honoursdegree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK). Anintermediate knowledge of microeconomics required, but strong applicants with little or no prior training in economics may be admitted provided they attend a pre-sessional course.
Modules include: market and trade analysis; qualitative research methods; econometrics; appraisal of agricultural and rural development projects; research and study skills for independent learning.
