This course is aimed at early or mid-career development professionals with work experience in the government or NGO sectors or financial institutions in developing or transition economies. The principal distinguishing feature of this course is the focus on the use of finance as an instrument for economic development and poverty alleviation in the context of developing countries.
A first degree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK) in a subject which includes a significant element of economics and/oraccounting/finance required.
Modules include: Development finance; microfinance; appraisal of agricultural and rural development projects; macroeconomics for developing countries; research and study skills for independent learning.
