Species Identification and Survey Skills

The objective of the course is to prime students for employment as ecological consultants. To achieve this Biological Sciences has teamed up with RSK to deliver a course that precisely provides the skills and knowledge demanded by consultants. Students have the opportunity to embark on a 6 month work placement with an ecological consultant.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree (2.1) or above in a relevant subject.

Course modules

Modules include: species and habitat conservation; marine conservation; mammal conservation; geographic information systems; field trips.

Assessment methods

A total of 100 of the 180 credits of the course are overseen by the consultants.

Sponsorship information

A bursary for the sixth-month work placement is provided by the employer.
