This course aims to provide students with a broad overview of the molecular and cellular causes and treatments of human diseases. It provides practical and theoretical understanding of the most important current topics in molecular medicine including the biology of cancer; synthetic biology; cardiovascular diseases and stem cells and regenerative medicine.
A good undergraduate Honours degree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK) in biological science (such as biomedical sciences, biological sciences, biochemistry or microbiology).
Modules include: research techniques and experimental design; advanced topics in biomedicine; biology of cancer; synthetic biology; regenerative medicine.
