The course provides training in the range of earth science methods that are of growing importance in archaeology and palaeoenvironmental studies. The programme includes collaborative interdisciplinary teaching and use of analytical facilities, particularly for soils and sediments teaching.
2.1 Honours degree (or above) or equivalent in archaeology; geology; earth sciences; environmental studies or related fields.
Modules: quantitative methods; field methods and experimentation; laboratory methods; micromorphology; soils; and resarch methods; optional modules: aspects of sedimentology, palaeodiet and health, the archaeology of specific periods, areas or themes, or quaternary science.
Assessment is through coursework; examination; dissertation.
