Research areas include: computational issues of perception and reasoning in relation to image interpretation including application to automated CCTV analysis for safety,security and threat assessment; web base agents and services for application areas such as eLearning communities and spaces; and digital identity web dynamics and web semantics; ubiquitous systems and complex systems; adaptive and dependable information systems for enterprise applications and decision support; knowledge engineering; data mining and business intelligence; multimedia and multimodal systems; visualisation; assistive technology; human computer interaction and user interface design including usability and accessibility of computer systems.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to have the equivalent of a British 2.1 Honours degree (or above); for all the research degrees, including the MSc, students at the time of application should submit an outline of their proposed research area.
