Systems Engineering by Research
This course is offered within the School across the broad disciplines of Systems Neuroscience, Computer Science and Information Systems, Cybernetics and Electronic Engineering. It consists of a project with a significant research element, 2 taught modules closely related to the research topic and a research study module. It is particularly suitable for those in industrial employment or for those who wish to increase their level of specialised knowledge in a specific area.
A good undergraduate Honours degree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK) in an electronic engineering, computer science, cybernetic or information technology related subject. However, the subject area is interdisciplinary, and motivated applicants with other degree backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
The research project involves independent study, assisted by a supervisor, and the production of a dissertation on a topic consistent with the research groups in the School.
