This exciting new course will allow you to build upon your Initial Teacher Training and professional development to deepen your understanding of teaching and learning with the goal of improving your overall knowledge in areas of interest to you, your effectiveness as a teacher and the learning progress of your students.The course is ideal for those working in educational settings such as schools, early years� settings, Further Education and Higher Educational settings within the UK where your recent and relevant experience of teaching and leaning will allow you to focus on the interconnection between your professional practice and research to inform and develop it. All of the modules relate to your work-place context and allow you to underpin practice with theoretical understanding and reflection.
Applications are now assessed centrally against criteria that include a first degree in a relevant subject, of at least second class (lower) standard. The appropriate score in IELTS will be required for students whose first language is not English. University regulations apply. All students will study on a part-time basis only and must be employed in a professional educational role whilst undertaking the modules. Those applicants registering for the 20 credit (stand alone) Supporting Induction module should be embarking on their NQT year training in a teaching post in order to enrol. Other MA admissions criteria apply. These applicants will not be required to register for the MA Programme but they will be expected to progress onto the MA Educational Practice.
