If you join us, you will train at one of the UK's leading and longest-running providers of teacher education. Our tutor team includes expert classroom teachers and research-engaged university staff. This engaging programme will provide both an academic qualification at Masters-level (PGCE) and a recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You will gain from the expertise and enthusiasm of our school mentors and university subject tutors in small, subject-based teaching groups at Roehampton, tailored to your experience and expertise. Our School of Education is one of the principal providers of teacher training in the UK. Set on a beautiful parkland campus, we have a rich 175-year history providing teacher education through our four Colleges.

Entry requirements

The Programme addresses the Secretary of State's Initial Teacher Training Criteria (TA 2012) and subsequent revisions. Details are provided in selection criteria. Applicants must: hold and be able to provide certificated evidence of having an undergraduate degree conferred by a United Kingdom higher education institution or an equivalent qualification;
have achieved at least a grade C or above in both Mathematics and English Language GCSEs (or approved equivalents). Equivalency tests in both Mathematics and English offered by Equivalency Testing are also accepted;
have recently observed lessons in a UK secondary school ; have a broad-based educational background and be able to read effectively and communicate clearly in standard spoken and written English; and
the UCAS form requires candidates to provide the details of two referees.
