Obesity (Risks and Prevention)
The course is designed for students from a range of backgrounds including new graduates from life sciences or psychology as well as health professionals with a strong interest in the prevention and management of obesity; those with a suitable background in exercise coaching or working in the private sector health and fitness industry will be able to gain a well-recognised Masters level qualification. The PGDip option (120 credits) is particularly suitable for those interested in updating their knowledge without conducting a research project. Guest lecturers eminent in their field of study and external collaborators from well-known medical schools and nutrition departments contribute to the course.
The programmes will be open to applicants not only with a background in healthcare, medical sciences and life sciences, but also to those from a background in social sciences, psychology, sports and teaching. Health professionals with non-traditional academic backgrounds will also be considered.
