Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy
A relevant undergraduate degree at grade 2.2 or above (e.g. social sciences)
or any undergraduate degree at grade 2.2 or above plus basic counselling skills training/experience or a relevant professional qualification and experience (e.g. social work, nursing, teaching, youth work) or, in exceptional circumstances, mature applicants may present a portfolio demonstrating the ability to study counselling at M level experience of working in a helping role with people is desirable for all applicants and required for those without any formal qualifications. Applicants from overseas for whom English is not their first language must comply with the University's minimum requirement for Masters degrees for proficiency in the English language. This is currently British Council IELTS at band 6.5 with no less than 6 in each band of the test. Part of the selection process for this training will require suitable applicants to come to the university for a half day in which they will be given further information about the course and have two interviews with members of the MA teaching team.
