Entry requirements

The University policy will be applied in addition to the following criteria: A demonstration of the ability to study successfully at postgraduate level. This will normally mean at least an upper 2nd Class Honours degree in any subject or an equivalent, for example, the successful completion of an appropriate post-qualifying professional or access programme; graduates for whom English is not the 1st language must satisfy the university requirement for IELTS currently at 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in all sections. All applicants who do not fully meet the above requirements will normally be interviewed. Applicants who do not have an upper 2nd Class degree but who have other claims for consideration may be admitted if they demonstrate their ability to meet the intellectual demands of the programme by means of a 2-hour unseen essay-style assessment. Applicants who have not met the English requirement of the university must, if appropriate, take and pass a pre-sessional programme that meets the necessary standards. Registration will be done within the normal university procedures.
