Art and Design (Contemporary Fine Art)
The course aims to develop your critical and contextual practice, contemporary and innovative methodologies, cross-disciplinary and collaborative practices and reflective studio-based practice. You will also be encouraged to undertake independent contextual and theoretical research that will improve your capacity for independent enquiry, creativity and professional practice.
Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to an ongoing career as a practising artist and a willingness to challenge the scope of their practice.
Modules include: Research methods and practice; specialist practice; creative contexts; practice in context; negotiated thesis/major project.
Assessment methods used on the course include: practical, oral and written assignments (80 per cent); group presentations (20 per cent).
Study awards include: Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Scholarship; University of Salford student loyalty discount; Country bursary scheme (for International students only).
