Art and Design (Creative Education)
This course covers the teaching and development of creativity in others. Studio space is provided and you are expected to develop and understand your own creative processes in order to advance your practice and improve your ability to communicate your ideas and skills within educational or community settings.
A relevant undergraduate degree at 2.1 or above, and supporting portfolio of practice. Applicants with an undergraduate degree of 2.2 will be considered where a high quality portfolio of practice is presented. The majority of students applying to the course are asked to submit a statement covering their purpose in applying for higher level study and their personal interest in creative education methods or themes. You may elect to include portfolio evidence in support of your submission but it is not a prerequisite. You will be interviewed and prior experience will be taken into consideration. Students whose 1st language is not English will need to provide evidence of proficiency in the English language (IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent qualification).
Modules include: Research methods and practice; specialist practice; creative contexts; practice in context; negotiated thesis/major project.
Assessment methods used on the course include: practical, oral and written assignments (80 per cent); group presentations (20 per cent).
