Geriatric Medicine

This course is a collaboration with the North Western Postgraduate Medical Deanery. This ensures that the theory is delivered alongside - and applied to - the clinical situation. It also provides an opportunity for you to evaluate any current contextual and practice issues.

Entry requirements

Applicants should be a specialist registrar in geriatric or elderly medicine. Students whose 1st language is not English will need to provide evidence of proficiency in the English language.

Course modules

Modules include: Medical ethics and law; medical teaching and communication; health service management; general principles of ageing; common diseases of the older adult 1; common diseases of the older adult 2; psychiatry of old age; medicine for the older adult; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by a combination of assignment and presentation work.
