Lower Limb Health, Disease and Rehabilitation

This programme explores: Assessment and differential diagnosis; diagnostic investigations; conditions resulting from developmental disorders; conservative and surgical treatment; trauma management; management of complex foot deformities; lower limb biomechanics, prosthetics and orthotics; sports injury management; management of muscle and tendon injuries; management of common soft tissue injuries; rehabilitation strategies; holistic assessment and management of patients.

Entry requirements

A degree, grade 2.1 or above, in a healthcare related area. Healthcare practitioners with diploma qualifications and experience of working with people who have lower limb and foot pathology. Registration with an appropriate professional body such as Health and Care Professions Council or General Medical Council. We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully. Students whose 1st language is not English will need to provide evidence of proficiency in the English language.

Course modules

Modules include: Patient focused approach to lower limb assessment; management and rehabilitation of people with lower limb pathologies.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on essays and portfolios.
