This course provides a balance between theoretical and clinical skills and aims to develop participants� levels of critical enquiry so you can deliver high quality evidence-based care to people with diabetes. You will also be encouraged to develop your critical thinking, understanding of research methods and to evaluate the contemporary approaches to diabetes care.
A degree, grade 2.2 or above, or equivalent in an appropriate subject; an equivalent academic or professional qualification from the UK or elsewhere, i.e. incorporating study at least comparable to 120 credits at level 6; a Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate from a UK university. Students whose 1st language is not English will require evidence of proficiency in the English language.
Modules include: Diagnosis, classification and prevention of diabetes; therapeutic advances in diabetes and self-care management; diabetes complications and management in marginalized groups; research methods; dissertation.
Assessment is through written assignment; practical work in Simulation Laboratory and reflection; presentation; written dissertation.
