Advanced Computer Science

This course covers research areas including informatics, autonomous systems and robotics. Students work alongside renowned research staff, use the school's world- leading visualisation laboratories and develop advanced programming skills.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a 2.2 degree or equivalent in a computing discipline, including recent programming experience. We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully. Students whose 1st language is not English will need to provide evidence of proficiency in the English language.

Course modules

Modules include: Mixed reality media and multi-modal interfaces; advanced programming; semantic web and information extraction; advanced databases; project; professional placement year.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on 60 per cent coursework and 40 per cent examinations.
