Molecular Parasitology and Vector Biology
The programme focuses on the molecular aspects of parasite infections and vector biology. You will study contemporary research on immunological and molecular aspects of selected parasites and vector/parasite relationships; gain research experience and receive significant practical training including an intensive residential field trip.
A degree, grade 2.2 or above, in any of the following: biological, medical, veterinary science, microbiology, biochemistry, biomedical pharmacology, zoology, biomolecular science, biotechnology or biomedical lab technology. Applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully are welcomed.
Modules include: Parasitology and immunology; vector biology and control; molecular biology of parasites; research skills (parasitology); dissertation.
Assessment is by coursework. The remaining modules are assessed by coursework and examination.
