English Literature (Creative Writing)

In a series of practical workshops, led by experienced writers, you will explore and develop your own work in either novel, short story or poetry. As your creative work develops, you will take optional modules from the MA English Literature, which includes courses on contemporary poetry. You will be assessed on your essays, a creative writing dissertation and portfolio. Your portfolio may take the form of short stories, a novel extract, script or poetry. Our graduates are published poets, literary prizewinners and critics. We see you following in the footsteps of alumni such as Ann Sansom, Chris Jones, Andrew Bailey and Ben Wilkinson.
