This course is distinctive because it includes elements of international criminology, restorative justice and research training. The strong focus on restorative justice reflects a view of criminal justice found on several continents. The course is flexible. You can choose the taught path, the restorative justice path or the research route.
Core modules: Taught path: Responding to Crime in Europe; Issues in Comparative Penology; The Cultures of Criminology; The Research Process; Dissertation. Examples of optional modules: A choice of several modules including: International Criminal Justice; Policing and Society; Quantitative Methods; Methods of Criminological Research. Students are assessed on essays and a dissertation.
