Students concentrate on a single substantial thesis within 1 of the core research areas: intelligent systems and control: intelligent systems modelling and control systems design; evolutionary computing; optimisation and decision support; intelligent fault handling; neural fuzzy systems; machine learning; learning control; nonlinear systems: signal processing and control; nonlinear systems (modelling; identification; analysis and design); signal processing and complex systems; space systems data modelling and instrumentation; adaptive signal processing; nonlinear control systems design.
