International Finance and Economics
Expand your economic skills across the globe by specialising in understanding international finance and capital flows, the recent global financial crisis and emerging economies. This course prepares you for a career as an economist at a multi-national company or worldwide institution.
MSc: A good 2.1 undergraduate degree in economics usually with mathematics and statistics components. Students with very good degrees in related subjects with strong economics, finance (not accounting finance), mathematics and/or statistics components will also be considered. English language requirements: overall IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.
Core modules Macroeconomic Analysis; Econometric Methods; Modern Theory of Banking and Finance; Modern Finance; Applied Macroeconometrics; Development Finance; International Money and Finance. Examples of optional modules Applied Microeconometrics; International Trade; Industrial Organisation; Monetary Economics; Asset Pricing; Public Economics; Public Policy Evaluation.
Assessment is by coursework (including essays and project work), examination and disseration.
