Computational Intelligence and Robotics
From understanding the brain to sophisticated robots for search and rescue, advances in this field are having a huge impact on our lives. This course prepares you for a career at the forefront of the discipline, in research or industry. The course is taught by experts in control and systems engineering, computer science, electronic and electrical engineering and neuroscience. It�s supported by SCENTRO, the Sheffield Centre for Robotics.
Minimum 2.1 Honours degree in a numerate subject such as engineering, mathematics or physical sciences. To thrive in this degree you�ll need to have excellent mathematical notation and basic computer programming skills. Students whose 1st language is not English require an overall IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.
You�ll study a mixture of modules in computational neuroscience, machine learning, neural networks, modelling and simulation of natural systems, multi-sensor data fusion, adaptive intelligence and robotics.
You�re assessed on exams, coursework assignments and a project dissertation.
