Advanced Nuclear Materials Manufacturing
You�ll be taught by our world-leading staff using specific training exercises including: defining quality and its control; the use of standards and specifications; the use of non-destructive evaluation to identify manufacturing defects and maintain product integrity; failure analysis and failure prevention; the identification of the most appropriate manufacturing method for a new product. By the end of the programme you�ll have the flexibility, professional awareness, imagination and creativity to find solutions to new and unusual challenges in the advanced nuclear materials manufacturing industry.
A good honours degree in materials, metallurgy, chemistry or a related engineering subject from an approved institution. For MSc Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine, a good honours degree in dentistry or medicine is also acceptable. English language requirements- Overall IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.
Modules: nuclear reactor engineering; advanced nuclear systems; metallurgical processing; industrial training programme; introduction to finite element modelling; advanced materials manufacturing: parts 1 and 2; technical skills development; heat and materials with application; research project of your choice.
Assessment is by formal examinations, coursework assignments and a dissertation.
