Cleft Palate Studies

This part-time, one-year course is designed for speech and language therapists/pathologists and others seeking to develop specialist knowledge and skills in the area of cleft and lip palate and related communication impairments.

Entry requirements

At least a 2.1 degree in speech and language therapy or a related discipline, such as linguistics, psychology or computer sciences. A knowledge of phonetics is necessary for some modules. English language requirements: overall IELTS grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.

Course modules

Cleft Palate: speech production and multidisciplinary care; Cleft Palate: speech assessment; Cleft Palate: intervention and service delivery; Developing an Evidence Base for Practice.

Assessment methods

Each module is assessed by a written assignment.
