Language and Literacy

There is a real need for teachers, speech therapists and psychologists who understand the close connections between language and literacy. This course is designed to expand your theoretical knowledge and teach you new skills.

Entry requirements

At least a 2.1 degree in a relevant discipline such as speech and language therapy/ pathology, linguistics, education or psychology. English language requirements: overall IELTS grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.

assessment and constructs; Literacy 2: difficulties and intervention; Developing an Evidence Base for Practice.

PgDip

Spoken and Written Language; Literacy 1:

assessment and constructs; Literacy 2: difficulties and intervention; Developing an Evidence Base for Practice; Research Methods; Two optional modules from a range offered both within the department and across other departments in the University.

MSc

Spoken and Written Language; Literacy 1: assessment and constructs; Literacy 2: Difficulties and intervention; Developing an Evidence Base; Developing an Evidence Base for Practice; Research Methods; Two optional modules; Research Dissertation.
