Dental Implantology

This course aims to provide students with a theoretical scientific basis for oral implantology.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have a primary dental degree and demonstrable skills in oral surgery and restorative dentistry; must have at least 2 years' experience in a hospital or general dental practice. English language requirements: overall IELTS grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.

Course modules

Year 1: core modules: biology and biomaterials for oral surgery; surgical techniques in dental implantology; strategies for treating tooth loss; clinical practice in implant dentistry (year 1 and 2); research project.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include: continuous assessment, written assignments, presentations, case logbooks, dissertation based on a research project (MMedSci only).
