The course offers the opportunity to carry out research at the leading edge of physics and astronomy. There are highly active research groups in a wide range of areas, from fundamental to applied.

Entry requirements

1st or 2.1 Honours degree, preferably in physics or an appropriate science subject.

Course modules

Research areas include: opto-electronic properties of semi-conductor low dimensional structures; electronic and photonic molecular materials; surface and interface physics of polymers; function and structure in organic thin films; theoretical condensed matter physics; magnto-optic studies of oxides and semiconductors; particle physics and particle astrophysics; astro-particle theory and cosmology; astrophysics.
