This course prepares student teachers to teach pupils in the 11-19 age range; successful completion of this course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests; students spend roughly 75 per cent of their time in subject groups and 25 per cent in small mixed-subject educational and professional studies (EPS) groups; curriculum work; enrichment experience; educational and professional studies; information and communication technology; practical work in schools: 24 weeks spent in schools.
Degree or equivalent in an area related to subject to be taught, with at least a 2.2 classification or higher; GCSE grade C or equivalent in English language and mathematics; Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) enhanced disclosure; interview.
