Global Politics and Law (Doshisha pathway)

This course has been designed primarily for lawyers and students who work in, or intend to pursue a career in, the public sector. This may include high-level government lawyers, leaders in non-governmental organisations, and academics. It offers the opportunity to gain a critical understanding of the role of international law in advancing justice both in times of peace and war.

Entry requirements

Minimum 2.1 honours degree or international equivalent in law or politics. If you have other qualifications, we'll consider your application on an individual basis. Overall IELTS grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.

Course modules

Core modules: politics of international law; dissertation in global politics and law. Optional modules include: global governance and japan; law of international organisations; principles of international law; judicial protection in the EU; international bio law; principles of bioethics.

Assessment methods

Assessment is composed of a mix of coursework, project work and examinations.
