University of Sheffield
The programme works within the School's active research environment at the University. Staff supervise PhD students in a range of research areas including: accounting and financial management; human resource management; strategic management and enterprise; leisure management including arts, sports and heritage management.
Candidates should usually have an upper 2nd Class Honours degree or better in an appropriate subject from a qualifying university and a good Master's degree. The selectors attach considerable importance to the research proposal of 3000 words which students submit with the application form. The proposal may not always reflect the final form of the project but is treated as evidence of students' ability to formulate and develop a viable research project.
