Creative and Cultural Industries Management
This course provides general training in management with the emphasis on understanding and managing creative enterprises and cultural organisations. There are field trips and guest lecturers from the industries. You can also apply to base your dissertation on a project with a high profile arts organisation or event in the city. When you graduate, you'll also qualify for the Chartered Management Institute's Advanced Diploma in Management.
Minimum 2.1 or an approved professional qualification. English language requirements- All of our courses require an overall IELTS grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component or equivalent.
Core modules: introduction to the creative and cultural industries; critical theories and concepts in the cultural and creative industries; cultural marketing; accounting and financial management; research methods; managing museums and cultural heritage sites; fundraising management: sponsorship, philanthropy and the state; managing creative brands; managing festivals, events and creative performances; dissertation. Optional modules- one of the following: arts fairs, festivals and exhibitions; heritage, place and community; music management environments.
Individual assignments, group projects, end-of-semester examinations and a dissertation.
