Mechanical Engineering

The course helps students achieve chartered engineer status and develops the technical and non-technical skills students require to succeed in this industry.

Entry requirements

A minimum 2.2 Honours degree in mechanical engineering, although related engineering disciplines may be considered; the course welcomes international applicants and requires an English level of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: Dissertation; research methods for engineers; integrative project planning and management; safety, health and environmental engineering; applied thermodynamics; fatigue and fracture; industrial heating processes; further finite analysis; further computational fluid dynamics; non-destructive testing; heat transfer and combustion; condition monitoring; further aircraft materials; independent study for engineers.
