Professional Practice with Work Placement

The MSc Professional Practice with work placement focuses on professional development of qualified nurses and the course equips nurses to undertake higher level practice, education and leadership roles. Work experience provides valuable insights into health care practice and services in the UK. International students who are eligible can undertake the Overseas Nursing programme and/or the University offers preparation for the assessment of competency test that leads to UK Registration. On successful completion, you will have gained an internationally recognized qualification that is designed to prepare nurses to take up posts within nursing services globally.

Entry requirements

•Applicants must normally have an Honours degree and be a professionally qualified health or social care professional.
•For international students, IELTs 6.5 or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: Research methods (40 credits); dissertation (60 credits). Examples of optional modules: leading effective teams in health and social care; clinical conditions; cancer interventions.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include written assignments mainly based on issues from practice, scenario based role plays and critical literature reviews.
