Developing Professional Practice in Higher Education
This course is suitable for those who are early career academics, learning support practitioners seeking accreditation, or postgraduate students in full-time research roles in an academic environment.
Applicants need to be teaching or supporting learning in higher education and hold a 1st degree from a recognised higher education institution.
Modules include: Investigating learning and teaching through action research; approaches to teaching; planning learning in higher education; managing learning; developing good practice in assessment; culture, communication and learning; building on student strengths; innovation and technology in learning and teaching; employability and work-based learning; developing and supervising research.
Each module has two assessment components; an action research project and the compilation of an e-portfolio of professional practice, including your reflections on your professional development, reports from a teaching observation and the maintenance of an evidence log.
