Leadership and Management (Education)

You will gain a deeper and broader understanding of the latest developments in the sector, engage critically with educational and management theory ideas and research and apply your learning to your own practice. In addition, you will also learn from others in the group, and be encouraged to share good practice and develop links with colleagues from other organisations. The course is suitable for applicants who are, or aspire to be, a leader or manager in an educational setting. You may already be working in school settings or other institutions, such as the health service or the police force. This course is suitable for those working within a nursery setting, through to those working in an adult learning environment.

Entry requirements

Undergraduate degree or relevant experience; if applicants already have a professional qualification (for example NPQH) it may be possible to accredit prior learning/achievement for this work provided that a bridging assignment is submitted (a fee of �100 is charged for supporting and assessing this assignment).

Course modules

Modules include: Research methodology; managing, teaching, learning and assessment; developing people in organisations; strategic management and accountability.

Assessment methods

To complete the full MA you will present a 17,000 word research dissertation and a 3,000 word research dissemination plan.
