Post Compulsory Eduation and Training

This course provides an opportunity for applicants who are seek a career in the post compulsory education and training sector. If you want to work with a wide range of learners in colleges, training organisations, prisons, voluntary and adult community organisations then this course is suitable for you. Students will be welcomed into a collaborative environment where we work with you to develop your professional teaching skills.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 degree or above is desirable, or a recognised equivalent, in a relevant subject area. Applicants offering a vocational subject are normally expected to demonstrate some relevant vocational experience. Mathematics and English language GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, are desirable. An enhanced DBS check required as appropriate. If English is not the native language IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (minimum score of 5.5 in each band) is required.

Assessment methods

Assessments include reports, group tasks, small scale research projects and practical teaching observation. There are no formal written examinations. Your professional practice will be assessed by a series of observations, and a professional development portfolio.
