Sports and Exercise Medicine
This qualification has been introduced with the purpose of promoting and enhancing professional skills and knowledge among its students which have direct relevance and application to the demands of their working roles
An Honours degree at Class 2.1 or above in a relevant health based subject or medicine or physiotherapy. Accredited prior learning (APL) may be negotiated on an individual basis.
Modules: Anatomy, physiology and psychology of sport and exercise; exercise and sport in relation to chronic disease and populations; common sports injuries and investigation; management and rehabilitation planning of sports and exercise related injuries; injury prevention, rehabilitation and return to exercise; the multidisciplinary team in exercise and sport.
You will be assessed via a range of methods including: Clinical case scenarios, with case-based discussion; individual learning portfolio; group/individual activity; case-based examination.
