Accounting and Finance
This course is for those wishing to extend their knowledge of accounting and finance to an advanced level; options allow students to study a particular aspect of accounting or taxation in more depth. Participate in and contribute to the improvement of financial information systems within organisations and gain an appreciation of accounting and financial issues. Graduates of this course will understand the techniques required to make informed managerial decisions.
Degree in accounting or finance, or a professional qualification or overseas equivalent; applications are assessed on individual merit; international students require evidence of English language proficiency.
Corporate finance; equity markets; financial accounting 1 and 2; foundations of research in accounting and finance; management accounting 1 and 2; dissertation; plus optional modules from; accounting, organisations and society; financial reporting and markets; international corporate governance; international accounting and taxation.
Assessment methods include essays, case studies, coursework, examinations and dissertation.
