Accounting and Management
This course is for those wishing to gain knowledge of the fundamental concepts underlying accounting and management, including graduates from other disciplines and those intending to follow a career in business and management or accounting; it bridges the gap between general and specialist programmes and does not require prior knowledge of accounting or management. Develop your understanding of the central issues and challenges faced by managers at all levels (board, strategic or tactical) with an emphasis on the role of accounting systems in the measurement and assessment of organisational performance.
Degree in accounting or finance, or overseas equivalent, or professional qualification; applications are assessed on individual merit; international students require evidence of English language proficiency.
Core modules: Fundamentals of management accounting; fundamentals of financial accounting; strategic management; managing in a global context; marketing in the digital age; accounting for corporate performance; foundations of research in accounting and finance; qualitative and quantitative research. Optional modules: risk taking and decision making; operations management; project management; strategic marketing decisions; corporate finance.
