International Financial Markets

This course provides up-to-date coverage of the theory of financial markets and corporate finance, with a focus on practical application of knowledge. The course aims to develop existing skills through advanced study in the areas of international finance markets and portfolio management with an emphasis on equity, bonds, derivatives markets, and how these markets may be applied to manage a portfolio of financial assets.

Entry requirements

Degree in finance, economics, mathematics, management science or engineering, or overseas equivalent, or a professional qualification; applications are assessed on individual merit; international students may require evidence of English language proficiency.

Course modules

Corporate finance 1 and 2; financial risk management; fixed income securities analysis; stock market analysis; dissertation; plus optional modules from: derivative security analysis; international finance; behavioural finance; introduction to portfolio management and exchange traded derivatives; quantitative research in finance.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include essays, case studies, coursework, examinations and dissertation.
