University of Southampton
The course equips students with basic management and study skills, and an understanding of strategic management in a variety of organisational contexts; students also gain awareness of a variety of working situations that might affect team management, alongside relevant and up-to-date knowledge of management techniques, and skills and theories in either the management of finances or human resources; by the end of the course students have completed approximately one-third of the MBA.
Applications to study the Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration are carefully considered by a specialist member of the academic staff who will weigh up many factors; not only the candidate's academic achievements, interests and aptitudes, but also their motivation and their referee's confidential report. We make our decisions in most cases on the application form and supporting documents alone. Candidates who require special consideration, e.g. on grounds of age, disability or non-standard entry qualifications may be interviewed.
The effective leader and key skills; the strategic organisation in the marketplace; managing financial resources or managing human resources; plus an optional module.
