Strategy and Innovation
This programme aims to respond to those interested in strategic thinking and the challenges of developing new products and services. The MSc will provide you with knowledge and skills, supported by a strong theoretical framework, which you can use in a wide range of organisations including larger corporations. You will learn about the latest developments in strategy and innovation, including recent trends in responsible innovation as well as service innovation. Whilst the programme is centred on the latest insights from research, it aims to be alert to how theories and concepts can be applied practically in a real world setting. A wide range of optional modules enables you to deepen your knowledge according to your interests and needs. The dissertation is in the form of a three-months project, which allows you to explore a real-world problem in depth.
1st or upper 2nd class Honours degree (in social sciences, science, engineering or IT) from a UK university, or equivalent overseas/professional qualification (we are committed to assessing applications on individual merit).
Compulsory modules: Global strategies for growth; sustainable and responsible innovation; service innovation; innovation and technology transfer; current trends in strategy and innovation; quantitative and qualitative research. Optional modules: Enterprise; entrepreneurship and new business venturing; social enterprise and entrepreneurship; marketing in the digital age; entrepreneurial marketing; global entrepreneurship; retailing in the digital age; strategic marketing decisions.
Essays; case studies; coursework; examinations; and a dissertation.
