Education (Management and Leadership)

The Management and Leadership pathway is supported by tutors who are nationally and internationally recognised for their expertise in these areas. Modules cover theories of leadership and their application in educational contexts, accessing and applying evidence from educational research on management and governance structures of educational institutions. 

Entry requirements

MSc: UK Bachelors degree with upper-second class honours or higher, and ideally work experience in a related field

Course modules

Typical modules include: Learning and Teaching; Education Research: Practice and Methods; Understanding Education Research; Leadership in Education; Dissertation; Management in Education Organisations; Globalisation and Education Policy; The Social context of education and lifelong learning.

Assessment methods

Modules will normally be assessed by one or two assignments totalling the equivalent of 4000 words. Assessment methods may include:  Essays; Oral/electronic presentations; Posters; Authored materials (e.g. an audio or video podcast, a learning resource or educational game).
