This flexible route to a masters degree allows education and training practitioners to research and develop more effective practice across different areas. Modules provide opportunities for critical engagement with current issues related to education theory, policy and research within national, international and global contexts as well as opportunities to examine education theory and practice at institutional and classroom level.

Entry requirements

MSc: UK Bachelors degree with upper-second class honours or higher and ideally work experience in a related field.

Course modules

Typical modules include: Learning and Teaching; Education Research: Practice and Methods; Understanding Education Research; Leadership in Education; Inclusive Practices in Education;   Globalisation and Education Policy; The Social context of education and lifelong learning; Management in Education Organisations; Investigating Innovations in Learning and Teaching; Dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessed by one or two assignments totalling the equivalent of 4000 words;  may include: Essays, Oral/electronic presentations and Posters.
