This programme, delivered online, is aimed at teachers and trainers, both local and international, who are looking for advancement into leadership roles within education organisations and focuses on three core areas essential for career development: pedagogy, leadership and research. It is particularly suitable for those who are unable to travel and are looking for study opportunities that will enable them to remain in their locality or job and yet still obtain higher qualifications. Modules can also be undertaken individually for CPD. Plus dissertation
MSc: A good honours degree (equivalent to a UK first- or upper second-class degree) from a recognised university and, ideally, professional experience relating to the area of study
Typical modules include: Making Sense of Education Research; Effective Teaching and Learning; Leading and Managing in Education; Collecting and Analysing Data in Education; Innovating Practice in Education; Developing Strategies: Global and Social Change; Dissertation.
Assessed by one or two assignments totalling the equivalent of 4000 words. Essays (including literature reviews, annotated bibliographies, and critical narrative-type essays); Case studies (of individual practice, organisation level practices or national level policy/practice); Presentations (delivered orally or electronically); Posters (including contemporary versions such as e-newsletters and blogs); Digitally authored materials (including audio or video podcast or animated videos).
