English Literary Studies (Nineteenth Century)

The programme comprises a wide range of topics and approaches, enabling students to practise textual, cultural and theoretical modes of analysis important to advanced research in English and the humanities in general. The dissertation allows you to focus on a single topic. This pathway allows you to specialise in the history and culture of the long nineteenth century through interdisciplinary study encompassing literature, history, publishing and print culture, and visual and material culture.
