Transportation Planning and Engineering

This programme will help you develop the skills required for effective transport planning and engineering in a range of contexts around the world. It is ideal both for graduates interested in a career in transport and for professionals already working in the transport sector but looking to expand their skills and knowledge. It covers passenger and freight transport by a variety of modes, and is taught by academics engaged in world leading transport research.

Entry requirements

Upper second class honours degree (2:1 or equivalent) in a relevant subject, such as engineering, science/mathematics, planning or geography. Those candidates with relevant employment experience will be considered if they do not meet the requirements. Applications are assessed individually, and any candidates who do not match the standard profile but who have appropriate academic qualifications and/or industry experience are encouraged to apply.

Sponsorship information

The Programme is currently supported by EPSRC under a National Masters Training Package (NMTP) in Transport, which provides resources for programme improvements and new initiatives, as well as at least 5 studentships each year. Also: Rees Jeffreys Road Fund; various bursaries from consultants.
